Rebbe Responsa | December 10, 2025

We hereby present Issue 121 of Rebbe Responsa, a compilation of letters originally authored by the Lubavitcher Rebbe in English, culled from the Rebbe Responsa app.

This issue continues our series on the Rebbe’s advocacy for prayer in public schools. In response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1962 ban on the Regents Prayer (the subject of last week’s issue), Congress proposed a constitutional amendment that would explicitly permit non-denominational prayer in America’s classrooms. The letters featured here examine both the legal framework and moral imperatives surrounding this pivotal moment in American religious liberty.

Most notably, one of these letters was formally submitted to the House Judiciary Committee during their hearings on the proposed amendment, where the Rebbe presented a comprehensive constitutional, educational, and ethical defense of school prayer. Through meticulous legal reasoning and profound moral insight, the Rebbe demonstrates that acknowledging G-d in public education serves not merely as a constitutional right, but as an indispensable foundation for cultivating ethical citizenship and combating the moral erosion threatening American youth.

We encourage you to download the Rebbe Responsa app, which offers the only comprehensive collection of the Rebbe’s English letters available to date. With over 5,000 organized by both topic and date, the app makes finding the Rebbe’s guidance and opinion simple and accessible.

May we very soon merit the complete redemption with the coming of Moshiach speedily in our days.
