Sinful Son Sentenced

The Parsha Post | June 27, 2025

Weeping was heard in the home of the Weinfleish family.

“We just celebrated Benny’s Bar Mitzvah last month,” said his parents. “Apparently, he enjoyed the “Bar” more than the Mitzvah. We caught him stealing money from us to buy fine wine and expensive meat. After careful deliberation, the Beis Din ruled that our beloved Benny is a Ben Sorer Umoreh, deserving of death before he becomes dangerous!”

While rumors swirled about the incident, Shazak reporters discovered that many Rabbinical Sages refuse to carry out this death sentence. This is based on Rabbi Yehudah’s teaching that the parents of the Ben Sorer Umoreh must be identical in look, voice, and height, making it virtually impossible to actually occur.
