Using a Mosquito Repellent on Shabbos

“Bzzz....Bzzz....”

“Imma, this summer vacation home is wonderful but I cannot fall asleep with a mosquito buzzing by my ear,” complained Yaakov.

“Ah! I brought along a mosquito repellent to this retreat,” said Imma.

“Amazing! Could you give it to me please?” asked Yaakov.

When Imma brought the mosquito repellent, Yaakov opened it and was about to apply it to his skin, but then he paused and said, “But today is Shabbos! Maybe we’re not allowed to use it now!”
