Three Miracles Integrated Into Nature

Living Moshiach | June 27, 2025

The Rebbe Rayatz (father-in-law of the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlita) was imprisoned in Communist Russia for his activities in strengthening Judaism. On the third of Tammuz, he was released from prison and exiled to Kastrama. Then, on 12-13 Tammuz, he was completely freed. The miracle of his freedom happened in stages, until the Communists themselves realized that they need to free him. And as the years went on, the Communist government fell and Russia granted the Jews religious freedom. The miracle was integrated into the nature of the world.

On the same date, 3 Tammuz, many years and generations before, there was the miracle of the sun stopping for Yehoshua when the Jews were fighting to conquer the Land of Israel. This miracle enabled them to continue fighting by daylight. It was a miracle, but it was for the purpose of fighting to win the war in a natural way.

At this time of year, we read the Torah portion of Korach, in which there is the miracle of Aharon’s staff blossoming. It was a miracle, but went through the natural stages of growth: a flower, then a bud, then ripe almonds.

The ultimate intention in most miracles is not for the miracle to remain completely above nature, but rather to connect and integrate into nature.
