This Yid says, “I do my best to serve the Ribbono shel Olam, but I have struggles and challenges. I know that this other Yid and his avodah are just as precious before the Ribbono shel Olam. If the Ribbono shel Olam created him, it means that from the time of the Creation of the World there was no one like him, and he is needed in order to fulfill a special mission. I will never know who is doing a better job at executing the mission....” Thus, he gives true respect to others. He doesn’t think that because the other person goes on a different path, he is a sheigetz. His attitude is: I need to do what I need to do. This is what it says in Shulchan Aruch, and this is what my rebbeim have taught me—and I have a long way to go toward executing this mission. I don’t know anything about the other person. In his mind, he is truly respectful to the next person, and since he respects another, he learns to respect himself as well. Chazal taught us this: הבריות את המכבד מכובד איזהו, Who is respected? One who respects others.
