8. Hatafas dam bris. Some Acharonim are unsure whether an infant mistakenly given a bris during the seven days of recovery is considered to have had a premature bris and thus requires hatafas dam bris [drawing a drop of blood from the site of the bris] (ערוך לנר יבמות דף ע''א, ישרש יעקב יבמות דף ס''ד ). Some poskim rule hatafas dam bris is unnecessary (שו''ת בית יצחק יו''ד סי' צ''א, שו''ת אבני נזר יו''ד סי' שכ''ו, שו''ת שבט הלוי ח''ט סי' רי''א ).
9. On Shabbos. If an ill infant recovers on Shabbos, we wait until after the following Shabbos to give him a bris (ב''י סי' רס''ב בשם הרשב''א). Some Acharonim consider the possibility that giving him a bris on Shabbos before the seven days are up is considered chillul Shabbos (שו''ת בנין ציון ח''א סי' פ''ז ).
