IT CAN THUS BE SETTLED
- That Rabbonim across the world should pasken on the following two questions: (1) If one of the rescued hostages were to return to that place, should he say the brachah of “She’asah li nes bamakom hazeh,” or may he not say the brachah, and if he does it is considered a brachah levatalah? (2) If someone is ill r”l, may he visit a more expert doctor who is not frum, or must he go to a frum doctor even if he is not as expert as the first? (Simchas Torah 5737)
- In 5741 (1981).
- On Shabbos Parshas Bereishis, 5735 (1974), the Rebbe announced that from now on, people should not come to him for yechidus for their birthday.
- On 13 Sivan, 5660 (1900).
- He would make sure the windows were closed.
- That if he would deal with every rumor like this one, he would not have any time left to daven or learn. (This is the general idea of the response, not the exact wording.)
- From Tehillim on Shabbos morning, Shabbos Mevarchim Adar Sheni 5746 (1986), until (and including) Erev Pesach of that year, due to a medical issue the Rebbe then had with his left foot.
- Originally, the Rebbe said that one should not drink more than three shots of mashke (Shabbos Parshas Shemini 5723/1963). A few years later, the Rebbe changed the maximum number to four.
- (1) The Rebbeim gave us so many maamorim and sichos on our level of understanding. This gives us the necessary kochos to serve Hashem without needing to drink a lot of mashke. (2) Today we are tasked with spreading Chassidus to the outside world, and drinking a lot of mashke can hamper this (as opposed to previous generations, when the main job was to spread Chassidus among the chassidim themselves).
