Halachos of Milah

Chukai Chaim | December 08, 2025

Previous Issues

1. Great is the mitzva of milah, for which 13 brissim were made (נדרים לא :), i.e., in the parsha of milah told to Avraham Avinu ע"ה , the word “ברית ” appears 13 times (תוס ור''ן שם ). Thus, although we already wrote about this topic in the past, we will present here some more halachos on the topic of this great and important mitzva.

2. In Issue 63, we discussed halachos about the mitzva of milah [whether the father or a mohel is preferable (par. 2), whether a seudas bris can be milchigs (10)]; the performance of the act [cutting and priah simultaneously (16), metzitza (25)]; and a bris done on Shabbos (31 and on). In Issue 198, we cited halachos about the brachos of milah [it must be said standing (2), whether the nusach is tzavei or tziva (8)]; the specialness (11) and segulos (16) of being a sandek; sandek and amida l’brachos (22); simultaneously serving as sandek and mohel (25); and more.
