HaShem commanded Avram to leave Charan, his birth place and the land of his fathers, and go to the place that HaShem would show him. Avram took his family and possessions and went to Eretz Canaan.
Avram’s shepherds and Lot’s shepherds fought over how to feed the cattle. Avram and Lot decided to separate from each other. Lot decided to live in the city of Sodom.
In the war of the Four Kings and the Five Kings, Lot was taken captive. The refugee (Og, the giant) told Avram what happened to Lot. Avram went out to battle and rescued Lot.
HaShem promised Avram that his children would be as many as the stars in the sky. Just as it is impossible to count the stars, his descendants would be so many that it would impossible to count them as well.
Sarai told Avram to take Hagar, her maidservant, as an additional wife. Hagar gave birth to a son, and Avram called him Yishmael.
HaShem changed Avram’s name to (אברהם) Avrohom and Sarai’s name to (שרה) Sarah.
