PARENTING POST

If you only have one tool in the toolbox, you won’t be able to fix very many things...
Not all inappropriate behaviors are the same, nor do they all require the same form of education. The child who calls his sibling “baby” is not doing the same thing as the child who kicks his sibling in the gut, just as the person who overstays his welcome at a parking meter is not doing the same thing as the person who is robbing someone at gunpoint. Make sure your interventions reflect the very real difference in behaviors.
Your eyes deceive you, your mind wants to believe it, your heart yearns for it...
Everybody’s marriage is a piece of work - not just yours. Everybody has to work on their marriage, not just you. If you think it’s otherwise, it’s probably time to get off of social media, stop fantasizing, get a bit more cynical about all the smiling people you see in public (and in photos) and otherwise, acknowledge and accept that people and life are created for complexity and challenge, not simple-minded bliss.
