The Spiritual Significance of the Second Day of Yom Tov in the Diaspora

הפצת המיינות חוצה | December 31, 2025

The abundant affluence of light from the spiritual world of Atzilus only becomes revealed into Malchus of ‘Yetzirah’ and ‘Asiyah’ and they pervade the ‘seventy ministers’.

We can also understand the cause for such great joy on the second day of Yom Tov in the Diaspora which is even greater than the joy that is had in Eretz Yisroel. Because this is like the parable of a prince who was captured and held in captivity in iron chains but then when he was freed, and he went home to enjoy some of the King’s delicacies, the joy was intensified because of his previous captivity. The joy was even greater than it would have been had he not been in captivity and had remained all his days at the palace eating at his father’s table.

So too, in the realm of Malchus of ‘Yetzirah’ and ‘Asiyah’ above that pervade the seventy Ministers it is like they are in exile that when a revelation of light and supernal affluence from the spiritual world of Atzilus is illuminated there, then the joy is exaggerated to such an extent that it is even greater than the joy that would be had from a Divine revelation in the spiritual world of Atzilus itself that never had to descend into hidden levels to pervade the ‘seventy ministers’.

This is the virtue of the second day of Yom Tov in the Diaspora in comparison to the first day of Yom Tov in Eretz Yisroel. This is because although on the first day of Yom Tov in Eretz Yisroel there is a Divine revelation of the abundance of the spiritual world of ‘Atzilus’ but it only illuminates into ‘Malchus’ of ‘Atzilus’.

Whereas on the second day of Yom Tov in the Diaspora the affluence of the spiritual world of ‘Atzilus’ actually reveals into ‘Malchus’ of ‘Yetzira’ and ‘Asiyah’ that themselves are pervading the ‘seventy ministers’.
