An Answer to Those Who Question Why the Storm About Moshiach

Lebin mit Moshiach | June 25, 2025

When we speak about the general topic of Geula, there are “wild people” who argue: what is the tumult and “storm” that we say “We Want Moshiach Now”? How can we express authority and forcefully demand that we want Moshiach immediately? We need to study Torah and perform mitzvos; and at the maximum, to request for the coming of Moshiach! But – they argue – not to forcefully demand that we want it immediately!

Their argument is: that to forcefully demand the immediate coming of Moshiach, is not “correct” and not “respectful” – it is not their way of doing things, not their “derech” – to use their words!

When they are answered that they themselves request in the “amida” prayer “Speedily cause the scion of Dovid Your servant to flourish”... - they respond: that this request is recited during prayer, when one is in a situation of “a servant before his Master” – transcending worldly existence – but when one is within the world - then it is not their way of doing things!

The answer to this is: every single day, whether it’s weekdays or whether it’s Shabbosim and festivals, and whether it’s Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, after the amida prayer, at the conclusion, every Jewish person says: “May it be Your Will, L-ord our G-d and G-d of our fathers, that the Beis Hamikdash be speedily rebuilt in our days”! Although this is after the amida prayer, when we already have an association with the world!

May it be Hashems Will that the Beis Hamikdash be speedily rebuilt in our days in the true and complete Geula, through Moshiach tzidkeinu.
