The Land of Israel was provided to the Jews in three methods, expressing the three methods of connection between the Jewish people and Eretz Yisrael. This is similar to the three types of connection between G-d and the Jewish people.

Inheritance is the final Mitzvah (positive) in Rambam; expresses the concept of the completion of the Mitzvos.
