Today is the yahrzeit of the Arizal. The Arizal’s life mission was to reveal pnimiyus hatorah. The day of his passing therefore inspires us to add in our activities to spread the mayanos of Chassidus within ourselves and to others. (Sefer Hasichos 5749 vol. 2, p. 619)

You may prepare for Shabbos by showering and putting on newly washed Shabbos clothing as usual. Like showering, if you usually go to the mikvah on Erev Shabbos, you may do so today as well.
