Look how the striving and wanting is actually more than doing; and Dovid is considered the doer. (P.S. The Chofetz Chaim says that since Chazal say that by learning the Parsha of Korbanos it is considered as if you actually brought a Korban, if so, the learning is even better than actually bringing a Korban, since now you have both the Mitzva of “learning Torah” and also the actual Korban). Although we have to always hope for Moshiach, we still need to cherish our present irreplaceable Galus, despite all its challenges and pain and Tum’ah.
And this is the way Bitachon works; i.e., we hope for a better future, and at the same time we are Sameach B'chelko for our present. And sometimes people don’t get what they want so dearly, since Hashem sees that they are lacking in Sameach B'chelko, and although the person screams and begs for a better future, Hashem knows that as soon as he gets his wishes, he’ll find something else to kvetch about.
