General Knowledge
1. The number 176 is particular about all of them. Parshas Naso includes 176 pesukim, and so does kapitel 119 in Tehillim. Maseches Bava Basra includes 176 pages. (And they are all the longest in their category.)
2. Based on the Zohar, maseches “Bava Basra — the Final Gateway” (the third of the 3 “gateway” masechtos) hints to the Third Beis Hamikdash.
3. The Frierdiker Rebbe writes that “the cup of Dovid Hamelech,” which is the sefer Tehillim, lifts a person a “tefach higher” above worldliness. Similar to the meaning of the pasuk: “A cup of deliverance I shall raise, and I shall call out in the name of Hashem.”
4. A parable for this is one whose sons did not behave as he wanted them to, and he hired a guide for them, to teach them the proper way. Later, he saw love and brotherhood between his sons, and therefore gave them a greater reward than what the guide had requested for them.
5. “בכל מכל כל" — "in everything" (3 times).
6. "תשתרר — rule” (Bamidbar, 16:13), which has the numerical value of 1500.
