IDF Lounge in Rechavia

Living Jewish | December 10, 2025

In the heart of Rechavia, a new initiative called the “IDF Lounge” has opened to support families of IDF soldiers with emotional, logistical, and social services. Led by Shliach Rabbi Yisrael Goldberg, the center – known as Mafal (Merkaz Pinuk Lechayalim) – was launched in a moving event attended by MKs Dvora Biton and Michal Woldiger.

Rabbi Goldberg described the lounge as “an island of stability” for wives, children, and parents of reservists who’ve endured months of war. “They needed support, practical help, and a warm, communal atmosphere – without having to travel to Tel Aviv,” he said.

The event brought together over 150 families, volunteers, and special guests. A reservist arrived straight from Gaza to express gratitude, and a soldier’s wife saluted “this amazing initiative.”

The Lounge offers emotional therapy, physical wellness sessions, meals, logistical support and most importantly, a steady routine and listening ear.

Rabbi Goldberg also announced a new fund to provide financial aid to reservist families. “We’re here not only to offer comfort” he said. “but also to provide real, practical help.”

As one attendee put it: “This place isn’t just about pampering. It’s a breath of life. It reminds us we’re not alone.”
