Door Hinges and Doors: Imagine life without door hinges, every time you would want to enter and exit a room you would have to move a big block of glass/metal/wood in order to be able to get in or out. Now that we have door hinges, we can simply push the door with ease, and enter and exit.
The Medrash Chanukah relates that during the Chanukah story, the doors of people houses were removed. Chanukah is a good time to stop and appreciate how amazing it is that we have doors, and we are able to do things in the privacy of our own home, and that we have hinges, and can easily move the door and enter and exit a room.
