Can dogs see and hear like people?
The most popular pets in the world, dogs thrive on social interaction. They are very intelligent for animals, with some types able to understand up to 1,000 words. Dogs can sense changes in moods, often responding with empathy. They have an exceptional ability to hear high-frequency sounds far beyond the range of human hearing. While they do not see color as vividly as humans, dogs can see in the dark much better. Dogs’ sensitivity to sound and their ability to control their reactions in stressful situations can turn out to be very important. The Torah tells us that the dogs of Egypt remained silent during Yetzias Mitzrayim, despite the chaos around them. They were rewarded for this by being given meat that is not slaughtered correctly or turns out to be non-kosher.
