The Previous Rebbe related that the Tzemach Tzedek and all the Rebbes made a special party which featured latkes on one of the nights of Chanuka. At that party the Rebbe himself sat with his family telling stories and words of Torah.
Our Rebbe says the lesson for each one of us is we must give ourselves away to our families for their Jewish education, in general, and on Chanuka in particular. Besides the fact the miracle was also performed for them the very word Chanuka is a construct of the word chinuch which means Jewish education and upbringing.
And it must be done not in a secondary or offhand way, but with involved concentration and serious preparation, like all teaching demands preparation by the teacher. And the Rebbe emphasized it should be done in a pleasant and happy way in order that it be received and internalized by the listeners.
