As we begin the new year

Inspired by a Story | June 27, 2025

As we begin the new year, we are all busy praying for a sweet new year, a healthy year full of success in every area.

However, we must also remember that Rosh Hashana is also a time of reflection. We must look back at the year gone by and spend a few moments remembering and recognizing everything Hashem gave us this past year.

For some of us the year was a golden dish overflowing with fruit. Some of us may feel that we only had a basket with a few fruit. But whatever category we think we belong, we all have fruit we received from Hashem.

If we are honest, in so many aspects of our life we had a year in a golden dish. Maybe in a few areas we had only a basket. But for everything we received from Hashem we owe Him so much gratitude. No words can do justice for all he gave us.

Our prayers to Hashem and our blessings to each other should be that we should be blessed with a golden dish again next year and if in a few things we only had a basket, may Hashem take away the basket and bless us that the next year everything should be in a golden dish.
