Hakhel Report

The Parsha Post | June 27, 2025

It was standing-room-only in the Beis HaMikdash in Jerusalem, where the King read the Torah for the entire Jewish nation, men, women and children.

“Following a Shmitah year, when we were immersed in prayer and learning Torah,” said Mr. Effy Farmerovitch, “this public reading was the perfect way to get inspiration for the upcoming six years of working the farm.”

“I can’t say I understood every word the king said, “added Berel Lamdanwannabe, “but the atmosphere was electrifying – a spectacular event that will forever be etched in my memory.”

Participants in the once-every-six-year event described it as a reenactment of the Revelation at Sinai, in which every Jew received the Torah from HaShem.
