Painful Passing Prediction Proclaimed

Standing before the entire nation of Israel, Moshe revealed that today (7 Adar, 2488) will be his last day on earth. “Today is my 120th birthday,” exclaimed the elderly leader in a clear, loud voice, as he stood upright, strong, healthy and fit, “and on this day I will pass away. Sadly, I will not be able to lead you over the Jordan River into our beloved Promised Land. But have no fear. HaShem will lead you. With His help, you will conquer the land!”

The crowd responded with a mix of emotions. There was much sadness as the people prepared for the passing of their great leader. But others pointed out that Moshe has appointed Yehoshua as a worthy successor to lead them into the Holy Land.
