The Avodah of the Year 5786 Partnership in Creation

Bilvavi | December 08, 2025

Recently, the Rav explained that the year “5786 (תשפ"ו) – comprise the letters of the word “partner” (שותף). As our Sages said in several places (for example, Shabbos 10a, 119b, and others)...”

In the series on Avodas Hashem in Yerushalayim before Pesach the Rav explained that: “A person becomes a partner with the Holy One, blessed be He.” Every Shabbos we recite Vayechulu and testify that Creation never ended.

Though the six days of Creation concluded, the world continues to live from the Divine Infinite that pulses within every detail.

To the external eye, reality seems finished and limited; but on Shabbos, inner vision reveals that every created thing contains “the More” — the living presence of G-d Himself.

This is the meaning of testimony: to connect the visible world with its invisible Source.

When a person declares Vayechulu with awareness, he becomes a partner with the Creator — not by recreating the world, but by uniting the Infinite with the finite in his own consciousness.

He bears witness that G-d’s presence fills all things, and in that moment, the act of Creation continues through him.” (concise summary of a section of the shiur delivered on Rosh Chodesh Nisan 5786 ב-ר בָּרִ יא - בלבביפדיה עבודת השם (Expanded translation on page 4)

[Editor’s Note: “In every moment, the Infinite creates me anew. I see His presence within all that exists.” (Repeat quietly on Shabbos or during the week —until the heart feels that the world is alive with His light.)]
