The Power of Torah, Tefillah, and Chessed in Troubled Times

Inspired by a Story | June 27, 2025

But during these disturbing times that so many of our bretheren are losing their lives in Eretz Yisrael, so many getting wounded, so many widows and orphans, we must remember our responsibility to do our share to arouse mercy in Heaven for all of Klal Yisrael and if we do our part properly, then our Torah, our Tefillah and our Chessed will save so many lives. If we don’t, Chas Veshalom, we may find out one day that we are to blame and be held responsible for what happened. We may find out how many lives we could have saved from being killed or wounded.

We must work on appreciating the power of our Torah, our Tefilah and our Chessed and our impact on saving the world.

We all have the ability to put a little more time aside for Torah study as Chazal says 'Torah magnei umatzlei' - Torah guards and saves, 'bein be'idan de'asik bein be'idan delo asik' - both at the time one is studying and also at the time one isn't studying. Every one of us can make the difference and save so many lives! If we ignore it and don't do our share, who knows for what we may be blamed.

May Hashem answer our prayers, gather all our good deeds, and send a speedy recovery to all the sick and wounded in Eretz Yisrael and all around the world; to guard and save all our bretheren in Eretz Yisrael, especially those in danger risking their lives to guard and save all our brothers living in Eretz Yisrael. May Hashem continue to help all those that are healthy remain healthy and Chas Veshalom not become sick.
