Furthermore, to add an inference from the terminology כּ “HaShem has givenִי הַוָיָ׳ נָתַן לָכֶם הַשַּׁבָּת of the Possuk you the Shabbos”; ‘Given’ highlights that it is a gift, as has been explained elsewhere that there are three levels regarding Shabbos. The first, [as mentioned earlier] is that Shabbos comes after hard work and effort exerted during the days of the week, as our Sages have stated “One who makes an effort [in preparation for Shabbos] on the eve of (before) Shabbos will [have what to] eat on Shabbos” and it is about this that the Possuk refers when it states: וְשָׁמְרוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת הַשַּׁבָּת לַﬠֲוֹשׂת אֶת הַשַּׁבָּת “Thus shall the B’nei Yisroel observe the Shabbos, to make the Shabbos”.
