• 5749-1989, the Rebbe spoke with Rabbi Yochanan Sofer, the Rebbe of Erlau. The Rebbe opened the conversation by urging the rabbi, who was a leading authority on Jewish law, to issue a halachic ruling that Moshiach must come.

6 Adar

• 5750-1990, during his address, the Rebbe spoke about his brother-in-law, Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary, whose first yahrzeit was marked that day. Rabbi Gurary was the executive director of the Tomchei Temimim yeshivah network, so the Rebbe urged the students of Tomchei Temimim to make resolutions to study and disseminate more Torah, and that a chasidic discourse should be published in honor of the yahrzeit.
