Blessing and Greeting:
I duly received your letter, in which you write that you and your husband are thinking of sending your son David to spend his summer vacation in a camp where Yosef Baumgarten is going to be counselor. This would be highly advisable, and for several reasons, and may G-d grant that he should have a wholesome and invigorating summer, both physically and spiritually. ...

Greeting and Blessing:
I was pleased to receive your regards through your mother and to hear of your advancement in your studies. I trust that you are doing even better than appears on the surface. It is surely unnecessary to impress upon you the importance of this at this time, for no doubt you know well that we are about to celebrate the festival of Shovuos, the Season of Our Receiving the Torah. You surely know what an important share Jewish children had in the great event of Mattan Torah at Mt. Sinai, for, as our Sages of blessed memory tell us, the Jewish people received the Torah on condition that the Jewish children would study it and cherish it and fulfill all its Mitzvoth.
With regard to the summer, I know that your spending last summer in Camp Gan Israel in Canada did you a great deal of good. We may therefore be sure that your being there this summer will also be of great benefit to you. And since good things can be even better, I am hopeful that with the good will on your part and on the part of the Camp, you will find it even more enjoyable and useful this summer. Of course, this does not have to interfere with your going with your dear parents to Minneapolis, for you can go to the Camp after your Minneapolis visit.
I send you prayerful wishes to have much Hatzlocho in your Torah learning, and in the fulfillment of its Mitzvoth, and may you always be a source of true joy to your parents.
Wishing you a happy and inspiring Yom Tov,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
