Rebbe Responsa | December 10, 2025

We hereby present Issue 114 of Rebbe Responsa, a compilation of letters originally authored by the Lubavitcher Rebbe in English, culled from the Rebbe Responsa app.

This week’s issue features a beautiful collection of letters related to Summer Camps. Whether addressing a child reluctant to attend, speaking to camp staff, or commenting on the opening of a new camp fitness center, these letters highlight the value of every Jewish child and the unique opportunities and responsibilities that the camp setting provides.

At the beginning of the booklet, we have published a 5733 (1973) letter addressed directly to campers in which the Rebbe encourages them to add in Torah and mitzvos and reminds them of the unique power they hold as children to influence the world around them and protect the Jewish people. The Rebbe later revealed that the children’s increased Torah and mitzvos during that summer provided a form of spiritual protection for Jews in the Holy Land, preventing disaster during the Yom Kippur War which broke out three months later (see Letter 2). In our own time of heightened concern for our brethren around the world — and in the Holy Land in particular — may this letter serve as a call to action and may the merit of our children protect the entire Jewish nation.

The Rebbe's English letters represent a little-known facet of the Rebbe's Torah, containing profound wisdom and practical guidance expressed in clear, accessible language. We encourage you to download the Rebbe Responsa app, which offers the only comprehensive collection of the Rebbe's English letters available to date. With over 5,000 organized by both topic and date, the app makes finding the Rebbe’s guidance and opinion simple and accessible.
