When the Previous Rebbe was being interrogated in jail, he responded to all their questions from a position of strength and confidence. When they asked him, “What is your occupation?” he answered that his work is Chassidus—spreading Torah and strengthening Judaism.” When they asked how long he had been doing it, he replied for about two hundred years, [meaning since the Alter Rebbe].

When they asked him [in a threatening way] “Do you know where you are?” he answered, “The whole earth is filled with His glory and, yes I know where I am, in a place where it is questionable whether one is allowed to speak words of Torah!”
