> 5739–1979, during a farbrengen, the Rebbe acknowledged that it was the yahrzeit of the Or Hachayim (Rabbi Chaim ibn Attar, a prominent 18th-century Moroccan rabbi who is best known for his commentary on the Torah.) After describing how the Rebbes of Chabad held him in the highest esteem – even referring to him as “the holy Or Hachayim” – the Rebbe related and expounded upon one of his teachings on that week’s Torah portion.
