Yechezkel: Prophet of Hope

The Alef | June 25, 2025

Yechezkel, son of Buzi, was a kohen born in the Land of Israel towards the end of the first Temple era. He began his prophetic career in the Holy Land, warning the people of its imminent destruction. In 3327 (434 BCE), he was among the captives exiled to Babylonia with King Yehoyachin, the last king of Judea. Yechezkel spent his remaining years in exile, shifting his prophecy from dire admonitions to a message of hope and rejuvenation.
