G-dliness in Quietude

Rebbe Responsa | December 10, 2025

By the Grace of G-d
29th of Tammuz, 5727
Brooklyn, N. Y.
Mrs. E. Weill
886 Alpine Dr.
Teaneck, N. J. 07666

Blessing and Greeting:

After the relatively long interval, I received your letter, enclosing a photographic reproduction of your latest sculpture.

First of all, I want to express my appreciation of your thoughtfulness in sending me the said reproduction, particularly inasmuch as it is connected with a prophecy in T’NaCh, namely that of the prophet Elijah and the significant message that G-d is to be found in the “small still voice.”

In the present age of loud publicity, etc., your sculpture is indeed a timely reminder that G-dliness is not to be found in the storm and the like, but precisely in the small still voice which regrettably is all too often drowned out.

I was, of course, gratified to note that you are active in your field, and judging by your letter, it is a source of personal gratification to you. May G-d grant that you should continue your good work and, indeed, in a growing measure inasmuch as all good things should be on the ascendancy.

You do not mention anything about the children and grand-children, from which I gather that they are well.

I noted with interest that you plan to visit the Holy Land, especially after the recent events there, which make it possible now to pay homage to certain sacred places which Jews were not permitted to visit previously.

I have also noted that you meet with Mr. Chaim Zohar, and I trust that the association is mutually satisfactory.

Wishing you a healthy summer, and With blessing
M. Schneerson

P.S. With regard to an appointment, the matter has been referred to the appointment secretary.
