A person who learns more than he is accustomed to, serves G-d greatly thereby. By doing more than usual and extending himself, he has broken the barrier of his normal achievements.

This small degree of additional service to G-d is often more weighty and decisive than a much larger degree of divine service that is routine and commonplace.
