Rav Yechiel Shlesinger

Rav Yechiel Shlesinger (Elul 1, 5651 / 1891 - 132nd Yahrzeit)

Rav Yechiel was born in the year 5570/תק''ע. He was a tzaddik tamim (righteous and holy individual) and a gadol ba’Torah (great Torah scholar). He served as the maggid of Pressburg and authored the sefer Divrei Yechiel on the Midrash Tana D’vei Eliyahu.

Rav Yechiel was the son-in-law of the holy gaon Rav Hillel Lash of Kolmaya (yahrzeit 10 Iyar), and he merited a son who was a tzaddik, Rav Akiva Yosef, the author of Lev HaIvri. His son-in-law was Rav Abba Hetzel, the author of Sifsei Chachamim on tractates Berachos, Rosh Hashana and Megilla. Rav Yechiel passed away at age 81 on 1 Elul in the year .תרנ''א/5651
