During the dedication of the Mishkan, Aharon was appointed as the Kohen Gadol, the High Priest. Until then, Moshe had performed the priestly duties. Now, the special role was passed to Aharon and his sons, as HaShem had commanded. This switch was significant, marking the beginning of the permanent priesthood in the Jewish nation.
Aharon and his sons wore special garments and performed the service with great care. The people recognized the importance of this moment, as the leadership of the Mishkan was now in the hands of the Kohanim, who would serve for generations to come.
