Shemini The 8th Day

Parsha On a Page | June 27, 2025

Shemini means "the eighth." On the eighth day after the Mishkan (Tabernacle) was set up, the Jewish people celebrated a special event. Moshe called Aharon and his sons and the elders of Israel to bring offerings to HaShem. This was a day of great joy, as the Mishkan was finally ready for use, and the Divine Presence would rest among the people.

Aharon, as the Kohen Gadol (High Priest), brought the offerings as commanded. The people watched as the service was performed exactly as HaShem had instructed. When everything was completed, a fire came down from Heaven and consumed the offerings on the altar. The people saw this miracle and sang praises to HaShem, bowing down in awe and gratitude.
