IN THE PARSHAH:
In this week’s פרשה we learn some of the laws about יןל ִכ ִתִאוֹא ִמ ִטוּ, how different foods might become אמ ִט ִ.
The רמב"ם explains that things that grow from the ground cannot become טמא while they are still attached to the ground.
QUESTION:
Every מצוה also has a broader lesson, giving us general guidance in our עבודתִד'.
What can we learn from the above הלכה?
ANSWER:
Just like there are times that produce might be at risk of becoming טמא, there are times when a Yid is at risk of being affected by his ער ִרִה ִצ ִי ִ.
The הרעִיצר wants to distract and stop a Yid from learning תורה and doing מצוות, trying to get him to do other things instead.
However, just like produce that is connected to its source cannot become טמא, a Yid who is connected to his source will be safe from his הרעִיצר.
Because the deepest part of a Yid’s נשמה can never be affected by the יצרִהרע in any way.
So when a Yid awakens the deepest part of his נשמה, which is called יחידה, and this motivates his עבודתִד', nothing can stand in his way.
A Yid awakens his יחידה by learning חסידות, which is the inner dimension of the תורה.

What do we learn from the fact that only food fit for human consumption can become טמא, and even then, only if it had become wet? (See אותיותִב-ג in the שיחה)
