The Bechor Factor and Your Unique Yetzer Hara

ויקרא ט ו( ויאמר משה זה הדבר אשר צוה ה' תעשו וירא אליכם כבוד ה')

This is the thing that you should do and the kovod of Hashem will appear upon you. The problem in understanding this passuk is that it doesn't elaborate on what "thing" Moshe Rabbeinu was referring to in order to merit the kovod of Hashem.

The Chassidim interpreted this passuk with a deveikus understanding. One time Rebbe Zusha was travelling and he came upon a fork in the road. Not knowing which way to choose he looked both ways and he saw the name of Hashem on one of the paths indicating that this is the one to go on. This is hinted in the passuk that the way to fulfill the ratzon of Hashem when in doubt, you will see the kovod of Hashem (His name) indicating the right road.

However, us simple folks will interpret the passuk to mean that if one is in doubt what exactly is the ratzon of Hashem on which path he should choose, then his choice is to honestly ask himself which way will bring about a greater kovid to Shamayim 'וירא אליכם כבוד ה. This is within everyone's reach.

Chazal תורת כהנים interpret this these words זה הדבר to mean to remove "that" yetzer Harah from his heart אותו Yet . יצר הרע מלבכםChazal do not specify which "that" must we remove. Chazal are referring to a specific yetzer without mentioning which one. Secondly, from where did our Chachamim derive that the passuk is referring to the yetzer hara at all, in the words זה הדבר.

The Beis Yisrael ztl from Gur said that Chazal are referring to the specific yetzer that each one has and for which he was sent into this world to correct. Everyone is different because every Yid has a special mission to fulfill. Mishlei 14,10 לב יודע מרת נפשו . Therefore the Torah did not make explicit which yetzer hara it is referring to for the directive is to fix one's unique yetzer and middah raah which one finds the most challenging. The Tolna Rebbi Shlita said that each generation has a particular new yetzer that they are challenged with and vulnerable to failure if they aren't mechazaik themselves. Our generation definitely possesses a tremendous nisayon in inyanei Kedusha because of the innovative technology so close to home.

How does one conquer his "that" yetzer hara with which he struggles the most from, and which if he succeeds, will bring to Hashem the greatest nachas. We think it is alluded to in the gematriah of זה הדבר which equals בכר עה"כ . We just spent a week of spiritual freedom זמן חרותינו from where we claimed that Am Yisrael is Hashem's Bechor בראשית ברא אלקים .son Chazal call Yisrael and Torah that ראשית Am Yisrael עלו במחשבה תחילה we were the sole purpose and intention of Hashem creating זה this world Olem Hazeh. And even though this physical world seems distant from Hashem's spirituality, we alone were given the task to connect the זה to the בא Olam Habah since we alone are connected and stem from the very beginning even before this world came into existence.

If one adds both the זה בא he arrives at 15 יה. Chazal say on the passukכי ב יה ה' צור עולמים with the letters of yud and hey Hashem created two worlds, the hey Olam Hazeh and the yud Olam Habah. זה הדבר this world of זה originates in Hashem's דבר as the passuk says בדבר ה' שמים נעשו (Tehillim 33,6). It is the זה, the glamor of this physical world with which the yetzer harah undaunted rises to challenge one's avodah to correct his impure driving force. The yetzer's opposition is in order to insure that one will fail in his unique shelichus here on earth.

If one merely thinks about his G-d given title בכר which is his true identify, he will be immediately empowered to use his ראשית supernatural strength to overcome his unique yetzer harah. With this thought alone one can defeat any physical drive since his existence preceded every other existence even the yetzer harah's who must subjugate himself to the Bechor factor when a Yid activates it by focusing on its unimaginable awesome gift and merit.

Only the בכר attribute will lend the strength and conviction in overcoming the yetzer that can bring one ברך blessing which shares the same letters. In fact the letters of בכר are 100% a double of its previous preceding letters of איק in the ones, tens, and hundreds. The letter beis is a double aleph, the letter chuf is a double of yud and the letter raish is a double of kuf. This doubling of numbers will not work with any other numbers. For instance the double of gimmel which is 6 is not the next letter ד which is 4, the double of dalet which is 8 is not the next letter ה which is 5 etc. We see from this that Hashem's beracha is 100%. It is very well worth investing in Hashem Enterprises in this world for your other worldy returns. Who other than a meshuganah would turn down such an unbelievable return on your investment in Torah Middos and mitzvos every day.
