Connecting with the Older Generation

Torah Sweets | January 09, 2026

"Take advantage and connect with the older generation."

The Torah tells us of the death of Yosef, his brothers, and their entire generation. This world works as a wheel that turns. A new generation comes, and the old one goes. The generation that is on its way out is always on a higher level than the younger generation.

Therefore, the younger are supposed to ask their elders to be taught and advised, as the Pasuk in Ha’azinu states (Devarim 32:7): “Ask your parent, who will inform you.” Now we also have an extra reason to reach out to them because they must tell us the story of the Holocaust - the details of the biggest tragedy - and with it the biggest Kiddush Hashem.
