Lessons from Miriam the Prophetess

Facebuker Shabbos Table Talk | December 10, 2025

Quite often, the biggest enemy we have is how we view the enemies and challenges we face. If we understand that there is purpose and meaning to what we do and go through, we can use it to lead us in the right direction.

Right now, we are enduring a painful episode in history, one that has taken many people by surprise. We’ve found that the butchery and animalistic hatred of the Nazis is still here. We’ve recognized that the world treats Jews differently than anyone else, and doesn’t acknowledge its own hypocrisy. We’ve also found so many people reconnecting with their Father in Heaven, empathizing with their brothers and sisters in pain, and searching for ways to give their lives more meaning.

As Miriam the Prophetess taught us, with the pure innocence of a six-year old, there are many good things to see, even if right now all you see is the bad stuff.
