This is a remez that reciting Tehillim is an effective means of doing teshuva (for the known pegam), especially during the days of Shovavim. We can learn from this that in order to purify our souls from all stains of sin during the days of Shovavim, it is appropriate to engage in the recitation of Tehillim.
