By the Grace of G-d
14th of Shevat, 5741
Brooklyn, N. Y.
The Honorable R. Boschwitz, U.S.S.
7010 Holyrood Drive
McLean, Va. 22101
Greeting and Blessing:
Coming from the Yud-Shevat Anniversary is a timely occasion, as well as my first opportunity, to express to you sincere felicitations on your appointment as Chairman of the influential Sub-Committee on Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs. It is very gratifying that as a member of the Foreign Relations Committee and Chairman of the said Sub-Committee you will have a far-reaching influence on policy-making and crucial decisions affecting this Country, and our Jewish people and Holy Land in particular. And as you know, of course, the vital interests of the U.S. and those of Eretz Yisroel closely coincide, since the latter is the only democratic and stable country upon which the U.S. can confidently rely in that crucial region of the world.
Since everything is by Divine Providence, and certainly being placed in such a high position of influence and responsibility, it is reassuring to know that G-d provides the capacities to equal the responsibilities and tasks, and helps to carry them out in the fullest measure.
Needless to say, your consistent, and hopefully growing, support for the institutions and programs that are carrying on the sacred work of my predecessor, the Rebbe, at whose holy resting place you are remembered in prayer, will continue to be a source of generous Divine blessings to continue to go from strength to strength in your Senatorial as well as personal affairs, to share with your esteemed family in good health and happy circumstances.
With personal regards and,
With esteem and blessing
M. Schneerson
