In Ahavah Rabbah we ask Hashem to instill in us understanding...ללמוד וללמד, to learn and teach. Not everyone is a teacher, so how are we to understand ללמד, to teach? These words can take on an expanded meaning: ללמד can also mean to share and spread Torah. In this way one can teach Torah.
In today’s generation one can fulfill these words by not even teaching and he will still be teaching Torah. How so? Spreading Torah via a website whether by posting video or audio shiurim or circulating written divrei Torah are ways of being a spreader of Torah. If you send an inspiring Torah clip through any of the various channels of technology you can also fulfill this.
Even if one doesn’t teach directly, simply passing along Torah content can be a powerful form of teaching.
Sometimes the one who spreads Torah can be a bigger Marbitz Torah and impact more people than the one giving the shiur! This is because the one giving the shiur may reach a classroom of five or even a hundred but someone who shares that same shiur via technology can help it reach thousands.
