His Majesty the King was seen outside the palace gates, accompanied by a small entourage while carrying his Torah scroll. At times, he would stop to chat with passers-by, who clearly relished the opportunity to rub shoulders with royalty.
In the tradition of Jewish kings, His Majesty is known to lead a simple life with just enough riches to make it clear that he is the king, appointed by HaShem to lead His beloved people.
“Our wonderful king is different from the kings of other nations,” commented Meilech Koenig, renowned expert on the royal family. “As per HaShem’s command, Jewish kings are forbidden to have many wives, excessive wealth or an abundance of horses. A Jewish king is the humble servant of the Kings of all Kings, HaShem Almighty.”
