During the year many of our children will undoubtedly struggle, they will feel upset and alone. It might be one of our children, it may be a child of a friend or neighbour or somebody we don’t even know. That child has figuratively left the protected city and is exposed to the elements.
As we have explained, when someone is left out in the field the responsibility lies upon all of us. Those who are closest, those who could have helped or made a difference must intervene before it is too late.
Unfortunately, today countless individuals feel so alone. Many of them could be saved with just a bit of warmth from those around them.
This Elul, as we are mekabel ol Malchus Shamayim, let us undertake to not only look after our own children but all the children of Hashem. Let us ensure that no child is left behind in the open and vulnerable field. Let us give extra care, warmth, and smiles and save those lives!
