גבול בני נפתלי

סוכה עם סכך מורה שצריכים ביטחון

בד' וגם לעשות השתדלות" - One needs to have Bitachon in Hashem, that Hashem is the One Who helps one accomplish everything he does. However, one needs to know that he needs to do his Hishtadlus. He cannot say that he will do nothing, for he has full Bitachon in Hakodosh Boruch Hu, and thus there is no need for him to do anything. This is incorrect. Hakodosh Boruch Hu commanded us to leave our permanent homes, and dwell in temporary accommodations for seven days, to be under the sky. The Meforshim tell us that the Sukkah is about having Bitachon in Hashem, as the Posuk says, "כל האזרח בישראל" referring to the Tzaddikim who have Bitachon in Hakodosh Boruch Hu, "ישבו בסוכות" - they shall dwell in Sukkos. We all have to elevate ourselves to be Tzaddikim, to have Bitachon in Hashem. However, in addition to living outside with walls around us, we must have Schach above our heads. Although the Schach does not give us protection like the walls, the Schach is to remind us that we are not Zoche to be directly under the Shomayim - that we don't need to do any Hishtadlus. Rather, we have the Schach to teach us that we must do our Hishtadlus, and then have Bitachon in Hashem. One who does not have true Bitachon in Hashem will have worries. If someone was relying on another for Parnassah, if that person leaves, he will have great concern about his Parnassah. However, one who has true Bitachon never has any worries. He does his Hishtadlus, and then even if Hishtadlus disappears, he still has no worries, for he always understands that it is all coming from Hakodosh Boruch Hu, and He never disappears.
