Medical Decision Sukkos Farbrengen

Best to avoid operation but decision can be postponed; Chassidic Farbrengen in Eretz Yisrael during Sukkos

By the Grace of G-d
5th of Tishrei, 5719
Brooklyn, N. Y.
Mr. Shlomo Travis
Bet Halbreich "B" King George St. 45
Jerusalem, Israel

Greeting and Blessing:

I received your letter of September 10th, and I was glad to read about your wife feeling much better. As for the question of further surgery, inasmuch as there is a specialist who thinks that it is not necessary, it is always best in such cases to avoid an operation. In any case, the question is not of immediate concern, and therefore the decision may be postponed until the auspicious month of Kislev. By that time the condition of your wife will have been ascertained, and you could then see if it is necessary to ask the specialist again whether surgery is necessary, or, as we hope, that it has become completely unnecessary by reason of self-improvement. At any rate, I send her my prayerful wishes that "the Healer of all flesh, Who works wonders" should send her a speedy cure.

I hope you are participating in Chassidic Farbrengen, either in Jerusalem or in Kfar Chabad, during the Festival of Succoth, the Season of our Rejoicing, and may the joy carry over into the whole year. No doubt you have received my letter with my good wishes for the New Year.

Wishing you and Mrs. Travis a Chasimo uGmar Chasimo Toivo,

With blessing,
M. Schneerson
