שפת אמת סוכה כמו גן עדן Sukkos 5643
The Sukkah is like Gan Eden. Man was created to live there, in Gan Eden which is the place of true joy, as we say, "כשמחך יצירך בגן עדן". Although Odom was banished from Gan Eden after sinning and eating from the Eitz Hada'as, nonetheless, there are times that we are Zoche that a spark of Gan Eden shines in this world. The Sukkah is a place where we can experience this. This is the reason that people are joyous when they are in the Sukkah.
Now we can understand the great depth of Rashi, the connection between Shabbos Kodesh and the Yomim Tovim. Shabbos Kodesh reminds us that Hakodosh Boruch Hu Created the world and the Yomim Tovim, and that Hakodosh Boruch Hu continues to run the world. We need both; one without the other is not Emunah in Hakodosh Boruch Hu. On the Yom Tov of Sukkos, we thank Hakodosh Boruch Hu for sustaining us all the years that we were in the Midbar. Sukkos comes after the days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Hakippurim - days that we were Zoche to Olam Habah. Now it's Sukkos, and we thank Hakodosh Boruch Hu for Olam Hazeh, for all He gives us.
On Shabbos Kodesh, we receive a Neshama Yeseira and are thus much closer to Hakodosh Boruch Hu. The Shechinah is in the Sukkah, thus, we are closer to Hakodosh Boruch Hu during the Yom Tov of Sukkos. Sukkos always has a Shabbos in it, which would make it an exceedingly holy day - we have the Neshama Yeseira, and we have the Shechinah in the Sukkah. It is a time to truly bond with Hakodosh Boruch Hu. May we be Zoche to have true bonding experience with Hakodosh Boruch Hu, one that stays with us throughout the year.
