It is told of many Tzaddikim, who went to buy an Esrog, that the first Esrog that was offered to them, they took. It always happened to be a beautiful Esrog. When the Tchebiner Rav, was in Yerushalaim, he went to buy an Esrog. The store was full of shoppers, looking at Esrogim. The Rav entered and went straight to the dealer. The Rav asked for an Esrog, and was handed an Esrog. The Rav took one glance at the Esrog, and paid the price, thanked the dealer, and walked out of the store. Everyone was astonished that the Rav, made his decision so quick, when they spend hours trying to find a nice Esrog. A real witty Yerushalmi approached the Rav, and stated out aloud; “This is probably a reserve Esrog for the Rav”! The Rav answered him: “This is my only Esrog, and besides, I didn’t notify the dealer that I was coming, as I am confident in the merit of not wasting precious time from learning Torah, Hashem would always deliver to me a beautiful Esrog. This was a real inspirational Torah lesson, and all the patrons made their decisions rather quickly as not to waste precious time from learning.
